In the MBL's first Friday night game, Mike Beringer and Travis Rose got the best of O'Brien's in a pitching duel. Steve Budny paced the Varsity Club on offense with 2 hits an RBI and a run.

Braeger/Treat's Blue Jays 4
With the score tied 4-4 in the 6th, Barber Plumbing broke open the game with a 2 run double by Eric Eickhorst leading to 4 total runs in the inning. Dave hetzel, Dave Eckhardt and Chris Behling combined for a 4-hitter.

For the second night in a row the Varsity Club received stong pitching, this time from Rick Szymanski and Travis Rose. Rose had a clutch single in the 5th scoring two to start a Varsity Club comeback. This comeback was topped off in the top half of the seventh with Rob Williamson's single to score two to break a 5-5 tie. The comeback was aided by aggressive coaching by Varsity Club manager CJ Knee.
McGinn's 10 Colonel Hart's 3
Scoreless through 2 1/2 innings, McGinn's batted around in the bottom of the 3rd scoring 5 runs. McGinn's added 2 in the 4th, 1 in the 5th, and 2 more in the 6th to put the game out of reach. Colonel Harts scratched across runs in the 5th and 6th. McGinn's pitcher Danny Mehigan pitched 6 strong innings to get the win with Adam Weber finished the game with a scoreless 7th.

Johnny V's 10 Kaspers 4
Johnny V's overcame a 4-2 deficit with an 8 run fifth inning. Dan Marx and Tony Jones had 2 hits a piece. Mike Gramrossa went the distance scattering 6 hits and striking out 5 to get the win.
Long Wongs 10 MPD 8
Shaking off back to back one run losses, Long Wongs picked up the victory over a gritty MPD team. The Wongers jumped out with five runs in their first two at bats, only to see the MPD get back to even in the fourth. MPD 3b Mike Lazewski strong defense behind Jose Lopez pitching in the middle of the game kept Long Wongs off the board for 4 innings. Long Wongs got the bats going again in the top of the seventh, scoring five times keyed by back to back run scoring doubles by Dan Yesbeck and Randy Kumm. Tom Mortenson (3-3, 2 dbls, 2r, 2bi), Dan Scherrer (2-4, 2r, 2bi) and Yesbeck (2-4, 2 dbls, 2r, 3bi) led the Long Wongs offense. Josh Sopczak pitched five innings of relief allowing only one run.
Club Paragon Gators 16
Planet Markey's 6
In this battle of MBL newcomers, Planet Markey's (new sponsorship) grabbed the early lead in the first. Then the Paragon bats woke up for 12 runs in the next three innings. Paragon's offense was led by Connor Broderick, Brandon Dejonett and newcomer Brian Lemay, who all had multi-hit games. Congratulations on Club Paragon's first MBL win.
Supreme Builders 7
O'Briens/Milw Harley Davidson 6
In a 10 inning thriller, Supreme Builders came through with a hard earned win against O'Briens. The Builders started the game with four consecutive doubles in the first inning to take a quick 3 run lead. However, O'Briens (as they did all game) came right back with three runs in the bottom of the inning. Down by two runs in the bottom of the seventh O'Briens rallied with two outs as Jim Vielbaum singled to tie up the score. The Builders came though in the 9th as Chris Moser drove in a run. Vielbaum returned the favor with another game saving RBI in the bottom of the inning. Entering into the tenth inning tied 6-6, Bry Rapp singled to right to drive in the game winning run. Shawn "Sweet" Carolan and Chris Moser led the Builders with three hits each. O'Brien's Vielbaum also had three hits with 4 RBIs. Dan Wilfrath and Ryan Diaz both threw nine impressive innings as Brian Rennicke received the save.
