The weather report looks favorable so get your cleats, glove and bat ready. The schedule is final except for some home/away adjustments that will be taken care of soon. I'll send an email when I've had time to figure it out. The first week is correct. Players & Managers- please print your own schedule.
Managers: Although we have scorekeepers this year, the winning team must still submit an online game summary the day of or day after winning. Teams must still keep scorebooks (which can be bought for $3 at Burghardt's). If a game has no scorekeeper, both managers must keeps stats, do a quick post game review with each other and the winning manager must submit those games stats to Jim Rinelli via email that week.
RE: Rainouts: Please check the website the night before or morning of games to check and see if there are cancellations. If you see nothing by three hours prior to the game assume the game is being played or will be an umpires decision. Managers can call me to verify if in doubt.
Potential Players:
We had a successful tryout on April 9. However, we are still looking for guys to play ball and fill out rosters this summer. In high demand are "up the middle" players. If you are interested please send a "New Player" application found on the scroll bar above. Cost to play is generally $50 to $150 depending on the team. Also, take it upon yourself to contact managers directly by email as found on the schedule. Since we are already starting, new players will likely see limited playing time early as they work into their teams depth chart. Most teams are discounting your player fee in light of this. Establishing yourself in the league and with a club is good way to get back into or continue playing baseball going forward.
Our year end banquet this year will be a fund raiser. We would like each team to bring at least 15 players and/or guests. Entry will be $10 each, which will include appetizer buffett and two free beers (or until half barrel is gone) at CLUB PARAGON. Half of the money raised per team will be applied to that club's 2007 league fee.
