Semi-Final Results
O'Brien's / Milwaukee Harley Davidson 2 PJ's Royals 1
The semi-final game between PJ's Royals and O'Brien's / Milwaukee Harley-Davidson proved to be a pitching battle between the Royals allstar Doug Paradowski and O'Brien's veteran Jim Vielbaum. O'Brien's scored first and started to rally, when Dan Wilfrath led off the second inning with a line drive homerun left. Mike Drover then followed with a double. After two flyouts Doug Dollhopf singled to right sending Drover around third, but the Royals rightfielder Mike Paradowski fielded the ball cleanly and threw a strike to nail Drover at the plate and end the inning with O'Brien's scoring only one run. The Royals fought back to score their lone run in the fourth on an RBI single by Steve Rappl scoring team Captain Joe Cefalu who reached on a fielders choice. Adam Miller replaced Paradowski (5IP 6H 1K 1BB 1ER) on the mound in the sixth and shut down O'Brien\'s 3-4-5 hitters. Jim Vielbaum (7IP 5H 2K 4BB 1ER) retired the Royals in order in the top of the seventh giving O'Brien's one last chance to win before extra innings. With one one in the bottom of the seventh Jason Peters walked and was replaced by pinch runner Jim Rinelli. Rinelli broke to steal second and made it easily when the pitch went for a passed ball. Doug Dollhopf walked putting the double play in order for the Royals. Rinelli then advanced to third on an errant pickoff attempt at first. Chris Vogt put the ball in play to short that scored Rinelli for the winning run. O'Brien's / Milwaukee Harley Davidson gets the win in a hard fought game, and they advance to the championship game to play defending champions Kasper's on Tuesday night.
Kasper's 9 Leff's Lucky Town / Spancrete 4
Defending Champions Kasper's (of South Milwaukee) threw everything they had at Leff's which sported the league's best regular season record. Clinging to a 6-4 lead in the sixth, Kasper's put the game away with three runs that Leff's could not overcome. Sticking with their coach's tradition, only the team's achievements were reported. Kasper's looks to defend their title on Tuesday night against 2007 MBL potential team of destiny O'Brien's / Milwaukee Harley Davidson.
