Weather and fields look good for games of May 20 & 21.

Remember to keep a scorebook in case we have a game without a scorekeeper.

Also, remind the park personnel to open the scorer's booth and turn on the scoreboard.


Get your rosters emailed to Jim and I, and mail waiver forms to me, this week. Teams not complying will have wins recorded as ties for May and will forfeit games in June if these items aren't attended to by then.

OH what a glorious weekend for baseball. New teams, old teams, good weather, the humm of the ball and the ping of the bat.

Varsity Club Bulldawgs 11 Merry's Indians 1: The Bulldawgs got their 2006 campaign started with a solid victory. Travis Rose pitched 6 strong innings of 2 hit ball. Pacing the Varsity Club on offense was Brad, Steve and Mike B with multi-hit games.

Varsity Club Bulldawgs 13 Merry's Indians 1: The Bulldawgs took advantage of walks and inconsistant fielding to post a 13-1 victory in the second game of the double header. Mike B pitched a complete game striking 9 batters. The Varsity Club offense was supported by Steve's 2 hits with both Mike G and Rob having 2 RBI's.

McGinn's 15 Braeger Treat's Blue Jays 4: Solid hitting up and down the lineup carried McGinn's to the victory. Two pitchers combined to keep Blue Jays in check.

Johnny V's 12 MPD 11 in nine innings: Johnny V's outlasted the Police in hard fought game. V's never lead in the game unitl the 9th inning when Eric Lubarsky drove in the winning run with two-out single. Mike Gramrossa got the win with three strong innings in relief. Dan Marx, Lubarsky, and Gramrossa each had 2 RBI's.

O'Brien's/Milw Harley Davidson 9 Kaspers 3: Kaspers jumped out to a 3-0 lead but O'Briens/Milw. Harley Davidson answered with 8 in the bottom of the third. Every hitter in the O'Briens lineup got a hit capped off by Chris Sanders three run home run. Dan Wilfrath pitched five strong innings to get the win.

South Milwaukee Arcade 25 Colonel Hart's 3: The South Milwaukee Arcade defeated Colonel Harts in their inagural game in the MBL Saturday Night. The Arcade collected 21 hits and 13 walks on their way to a 25 to 3 victory. Adam Biever pitched well in his debut allowing only 4 hits and striking out 4. Jeff Schilling Jr. came on in relief in the sixth and picked up to solid innings striking out 2 and not allowing a hit. It was a close game in the first two innings with Colonel Harts taking an early 3 to 1 lead in the second inning on a single by Chad Torn. Walks became an issue for Colonel Harts later in the game as The Arcade was able to string together strong 3rd, 4th, and 5th innings by driving in runners with timely hitting.

Long Wongs 10 Texx's Royals 0: Long Wongs and Texx's Royals took two for the league by playing a doubleheader at dandylion field at Froemming Park in Franklin. Long Wong's opened with a double by leadoff hitter Randy Kumm after he had fouled off six pitches and an RBI single by Kirk Spano to score quickly. Dan Yesbeck drove in a run later in the inning on a solid single. In the Royals first, Joe Cefalu and Steve Rappl singled to begin a promising inning before Spano ranged behind second, stepped to the bag and threw to first to finish a double play that ended the Royals threat. In the second and third Spano (2-3, 3rbi, 1r) drove in Kumm (2-3, 2rbi, 3r, 2 doubles) two more times. Dan Scherrer also singled in a run early to help lead a big Wong attack. Greg Ketz, back from a knee injury that cost his 2005 season, threw four innings of three hit shutout ball before giving way to Adam Graves who finished the shutout.

Texx's Royals 8 Long Wongs 7: In the second game of the doubleheader Long Wongs jumped on the Royals again, scoring 7 runs in the first 3 innings to lead 7 to 1. Royals pitcher Alex Arcano came in to stop the bleeding and held Long Wongs scoreless for the final 3 innings however. Texx's then got their bats going, scoring 4 runs in the fourth, 2 in the sixth and the game winner in the seventh. The Royals were lead offensively by the fiery Joe Cefalu, Mike Paradowski, Scott Rappl and Steve Rappl. Joe, Mike, and Steve went 3 of 4, and Scott went 2 of 3. Steve came up with the bases loaded and 2 outs in the 7th, and came through with a single to score the game winner.
