Mike Beringer, Steve Budny and PJ Morrow all had RBI hits in the inning. The top of the sixth saw Long Wongs claw back in it with two runs. The Varsity Club Bulldawgs scored one to take the lead again in the bottom of the sixth on cagey veteran catcher Mike Gawletta's clutch RBI double scoring Jeff Miller from second. In the top of the seventh with two outs Long Wongs lead off batter Kumm reached base on a catchers interference call. He then proceeded to steal second and third. With a two strike call on the batter, Kumm attempted to steal home, but a great pitch by Rose and tag by Gawletta squashed the potential tying run at the plate.
